Tuesday football practice report
Source: UA Sports Information
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas football team returned to the practice field Tuesday afternoon for a two-hour workout. Following Tuesday's practice inside Walker Pavilion, UA's offensive coordinator Paul Petrino spoke with the media.
On the running game:
"I think we need to balance it out some. We were making some plays. I think the third quarter (against Georgia) is how we want to be. We were really balanced on our drives and that's how we want to be the whole game."
On preparing for Alabama:
"Alabama's strength is their defense front. They have a big guy in the middle that clogs things up. They bring nice pressure off the edge. They have two really good linebackers that make plays. That's definitely something we have to take care of. We have to make sure we play hard and I think we have some good match-ups against them."
On Alabama being a high scoring game:
"I hope every game is high scoring. We go into every game believing we are going to score every time we get the ball. We aren't there yet but we are getting closer to that. It killed us the few times we had to settle for field goals. We need to go get touchdowns."
On Lucas Miller's status:
"He looked really good at practice tonight. He's out there running around. He worked really hard to be back for this game. That was his goal. From everything we have seen, he'll definitely be a factor this weekend."
On Alabama's Terrence Cody:
"He was a definite factor against Virginia Tech. He played really well against them. I'm sure he'll be fired up for Alabama's first SEC game. He's hard to move and he looks like he's gotten a little bigger since last year. We need to do a good job blocking him."
On the wide receiver rotation:
"(Not getting everyone in the Georgia game) was my fault. Our top three receivers were playing really well and I had a tough time taking them out of the game. I have to keep them a little bit more fresh. We need to play Cobi Hamilton more. Carlton Salters had a good week of practice so I probably should have played him some."
