FAYETTEVILLE, Ar. - The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team plans to continue it’s successful fall campaign with a trip to the prestigious USTA Collegiate Classic at Flushing Meadows Country Club in New York City Oct. 8-10.

The Lady Razorbacks travel to Flushing Meadows for the second year in a row to join a field of more than 20 teams from around the country, including Southeastern Conference opponents Tennessee, Kentucky and South Carolina.

Last year at the Collegiate Classic, Arkansas went 14-10 in singles and 4-4 in doubles at a pace set by Karina Ledaja who won all three of her singles matches.

“It’s exciting to be coming back to the USTA Classic,” said Arkansas head coach Michael Hegarty. “A good weekend here will give us the final boost we need in preparation for the ITA Regionals.”

Seniors Ledaja and No. 53 Vlatka Jovanovic along with sophomore Maryori Franco are back in action after competing in the Riviera All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif. last weekend. The rest of the Lady’Backs return after an off weekend that followed a successful outing at the Missouri Mock Duals on Sept. 23-25.

Freshmen Ela Kaluder and Aurelija Miseviciute remain undefeated in singles going into the Collegiate Classic. Kaluder and Miseviciute are currently 7-0 and 6-0, respectively, in their first fall as Lady Razorbacks.

On the doubles court, Kaluder and Miseviciute lead the way with an 8-1 record, but Ledaja and Franco are not far behind with a 6-1 doubles tally.

Draws and match times will be released on Saturday morning prior to opening matches.
