Perkins, Uudmae Earn Academic All-American Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Hog track has placed two of its’ student-athletes to the CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America teams. In addition to these awards, Coach McDonnell’s squad has posted a team grade point average of 3.03 and four Hogs have posted 4.0 GPAs.
Jaanus Uudmae, who exhausted his NCAA eligibility after the indoor season, was named to the first-team, University division, for the second time in his career, with his GPA of 4.0 in computer science engineering. During his time at Arkansas, Uudmae was a team captain, a four-time All-American, a three-time SEC Champion and the 2006 NCAA Indoor Champion in the triple jump.
Adam Perkins was named to the third-team, University division, with his 3.4 GPA in finance. Perkins will conclude the 2006 season with the running of the 1500M at the USA Championships on Friday. Perkins, who finished sixth at the NCAA Championships two weeks ago, has a season-best time of 3:46.22. He ran the second-best time of the season, 3:45.37, in Sacramento. Perkins has the fifth-fastest time going into the event (3:38.54).
The men’s track squad has a posted a team GPA of 3.03 with four Hogs (Brent Rosson, Luke Vinze, Jaanus Uudmae and Eric Gross) earning 4.0 GPAs. Also, Jimmy Duke, Eric Brown and Jason Sandfort have all completed their degree plans. There are also many other Hogs that are within one semester of completing their degree plans.
